Where in the state of Ohio can you hold a fishing festivus of sorts that shows off some of the best rivers, lakes and creeks in the state? There's only one centralized location - Springfield, OH. Within an hour you'll get all the well known (and hidden gem) fisheries to solve the puzzle as to where the biggest 5 can be caught. We welcome you to the midwest we're proud of; join us at
 "The Great Midwestivus," a fishing holiday you & your dad (Fathers Day weekend) won't want to miss!

Hosted by the the Greater Springfield Partnership and Visit Greater Springfield,
The area boasts more than just outdoor opportunities, but also immense art, culture, cuisine and unique local breweries and venues. We highly encourage the entire family to come join us on Fathers Day weekend as we celebrate dads and family at the Great Midwestivus! Although dad may be fishing, you'll be stunned at how many great things to do for the entire family are within the greater Springfield area!

We'll hold the KAS Closing Ceremony Festival, complete with food, music, games, kids zone w/ bounce house, kayak demos, Toyota truck demos, and vendors on Saturday before the awards presentation; around 6pm anglers, friends, family and fans will all pack inside the newly renovated State Theater for the KAS Awards show that you won't want to miss!  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

"Great Midwestivus Eligible Water"

Map of all "core" bodies of water anglers can use to begin their search!

Interactive Eligible Water Map >>>>

Eligible Core Bodies of Water **

         CORE LAKES

Clarence J Brown {} Kiser {} Madison {} Spring Valley  Ceasar Creek {} Cowan {} Loramie {} Indian Lake {}

Deer Creek Lake {} Alum {} Hoover â€‹â€‹

              CORE RIVERS & CREEKS

 Mad {} Great Miami {} Little Miami {} Stillwater {}

Upper & Lower Sciota {} Olentangy {} Big Darby Creek

** including all free flowing canals, creeks & rivers feeding in. When scouting (online or in person) track all tributaries upstream from one of the core bodies of water listed above until you hit any of the following man-made obstacles - solid or earthen dam, or road, culvert or pipe etc that you cannot kayak under/over. Any of those points are hard KAS boundaries. However, a "spillway" or "lowhead" type dam is legal  in KAS and anglers can fish & access above & below them. They are just "running the river" and are different from "solid or earthen" dams that have water flowing under the dam via a pipe or drain (think neighborhood or farm ponds, private lakes etc) or through larger outflows or turbines on larger public lake dams. If the water above a non-spillway type dam is legal in KAS it will be marked and listed as one of your "core" bodies of water on this page/map. If not, then it is not legal for the event.

Anglers must access "legally" & "publicly." If you find any water, or access, you feel may not be covered by the interactive map, preview video, or rules standards please contact the KAS Tournament Director prior to the event for clarification or risk being DQ'd if it is later deemed to be not eligible. For help determining "public" access reference the Farwide Flowchart
